Usage
Conventional coating with 40% of Cr.

Advantages:

  • higher heat resistance than AlTiN
  • achieves a better adhesion and higher coating thickness than AlTiN

Disadvantages:

  • softer than AlTiN at similar Al content
  • Cr targets are very expensive
